Investing in Community Wellness
Steady growth across all of our programs had our facility at capacity, making it difficult to balance simultaneous uses. With the community’s support in passing the bond in May 2019, we’ve begun the addition and optimization of our space to ensure everyday access for families, athletes and individual users of all ages.
New Opportunities
We now have a unique opportunity to add additional fitness and wellness components to our original plan through
the Happy Families, Healthy Communities campaign, a $3 million fundraising effort to complement public funding
and to turn the Holland Aquatic Center into one of the best community wellness centers in the nation.
What does this plan mean for our community?
Strategic Improvements
Through the addition we will add warm-water leisure access and a lap pool, updated wellness spaces, increased spectator seating and mechanical improvements to meet strategic needs.
A Long Term Solution
Holland has a reputation for doing things the right way. The expansion and renovation is a sustainable, long-term solution to meet the needs of our rapidly expanding community for the next 20 years.
Safety for All Visitors
From the youngest children to our most elderly visitors, the addition of the barrier-free, covered walkway, expanded lobby and indoor track offer a safe and comfortable environment to invest in health and wellness.
Based on Expert Advice
Working with experts in community based aquatics programming, we have identified a few critical opportunities for improvement, and have developed a strategic plan for renovation and expansion.
World Class Facility
With the help of private partnerships, we will add an indoor track, larger fitness space, an enhanced barrier-free entrance and more space for administration and community events.
Partnership Opportunities
These strategic investment opportunities will allow for private/public partnerships. Through these partnerships, HCAC will be more sustainable, work alongside area organizations to better serve seniors, and increase the health and vitality of our community.
